Bye Jekyll!

Last night I updated (or downgraded?) this page from Jekyll to just plain old HTML/CSS.

One, if they're curious about such things, might ask: but why? Well, let me tell you.

I thought Jekyll was neat and fun at the start. Something new to learn. Not only did I have to learn Jekyll, but I also had to learn Git, which up until then I knew nothing about.

But when it came time to actually post or make any changes to the site, I had to go through multiple steps and that just slowed me down. I'd already made my personal site in basic HTML/CSS, and it's as easy as signing into my file manager, copying my template and typing away.

I know it's not the same "functionality" as Jekyll - I have to manually update my post page, and all headers/footers, blah blah blah. But I like plain and basic. I don't need bells and whistles because 99.999% of all of this is only for me anyway. I'm not some social butterfly with some kind of following.

For now, I'm happy with the way this site is set up. I'll probably change my mind in a month again, but that's my prerogative. (I spelled that right on my first attempt. Go me!)
